We have tested Yonex Ezone 100-285g with Babolat RPM blast 125 and Yonex Poly Tour PRO 125 both at 52 LBS and think both these strings work well with this racquet aesthetically and functionally.
The Yonex Ezone 100-285g is identical to the 300g version only 15 g lighter. It is designed for intermediate and advanced players who would like a user friendly player’s racquet. Similar to its predecessor ( DR 100), this racquet’s provides more than adequate controllable power and spin for aggressive and confident ball striking. According to Yonex, this model features an expanded sweetspot mainly due to an updated Isometric head shape. Yonex has also reshaped the grommet system with its Micro Offset Layout technology, which enables the strings to absorb greater vibration at impact. Additional updates include the use of a hyper modulus graphite (Hyper-MG) in the upper hoop and shaft, resulting in greater energy transfer to the ball. According to a few customers who trialed this racquet, it feels very easy to pick up and play a great game of tennis with minimum adjustment. From the baseline, the Yonex Ezone 100-285g is powerful but manages to keep the ball inside the periphery of court. At net the Yonex Ezone 100-285g moves fast and delivers enough pop for finishing points at will. Aggressive servers should love the combination of speed, spin and power. Ultimately, with some impressive updates to the construction and grommet system, Yonex has added an impressive chapter to the EZONE 100. Yonex EZone 100 is a delight to trial.
